Lord Robert Fellowes, who was Princess Diana’s brother-in-law, sadly passed away on July 29, 2024, though the cause is not known. He was born at Sandringham in 1941 to Sir William ‘Billy’ Fellowes and Jane Fellowes.

Being Queen Elizabeth II‘s private secretary, Lord Robert was a key adviser from 1990 to 1999. He guided her through her children’s divorces and Princess Diana’s tragic death.

He even had to deny wild claims by Harrods owner Mohamed Al Fayed, who accused him of being involved in a conspiracy to murder his son Dodi and Princess Diana.

Prince Harry’s uncle also played a crucial role in helping the Queen during her tough ‘annus horribilis’ in 1992.

It was the time when Charles was clashing with Diana, Prince Andrew split from Sarah Ferguson, Princess Anne divorced, Windsor Castle almost burned down, and public opinion turned sour.

After serving in the Army for three years, in 1978, Robert Fellowes married Lady Jane Spencer, Princess Diana’s older sister. Princess of Wales was even a bridesmaid at their wedding. Then, in 2008, Lord Fellowes had to clear his name from the accusation of Diana’s murder after her death.

She died in a car crash with her boyfriend, Dodi Fayed, in Paris. Hence, the royal private secretary straight-up denied being in Paris or having anything to do with a conspiracy.

Eventually, he testified that he was actually in Norfolk, England. Later, British police decided that the crash was just an accident.

French investigators declared that the driver, Henri Paul, was both speeding and over the legal alcohol limit when the crash happened.

At last, our heartfelt condolences go out to the family and friends of Lord Robert Fellowes. For more updates on the royal family, stay tuned to Soap Opera Daily! Undoubtedly, Lord Fellowes’s decades of service and dedication will be remembered!
