Princess Kate’s next public engagement set to be within weeks as royal returns to work

The Princess of Wales is thought to be planning to attend a major royal event this year.

The  Princess of Wales has finally made her grand return to royal duties following the completion of her cancer treatment and is expected to attend a major royal event in just a few weeks’ time.

Princess Kate held her first official meeting at Windsor Castle on Tuesday since announcing the end of her preventative chemotherapy treatment last week.

The meeting focused on the early years development of children – a cause which has been labelled as the princess’s life’s work.

Kate was joined by her household team and staff from the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood, the organisation she launched in 2021 to promote the issue and conduct research.

The meeting is likely to have discussed Kate’s ambitious Shaping Us campaign, launched last year by the centre with the aim of raising the profile of the formative years of a child’s life.

This is only the third time she has been mentioned in the official record of royal engagements this year after Wimbledon and Trooping the Colour in the summer.

The Court Circular stated: “The Princess of Wales, Joint Patron, the Royal Foundation of The Prince and Princess of Wales, this afternoon held an Early Years Meeting at Windsor Castle.”

But the Princess of Wales is also expected to make her first big public appearance since the end of her treatment in early November.

Kate is said to be planning to attend Remembrance Sunday at the Cenotaph on November 10.

The royals attend the annual ceremony at the Cenotaph in London where they gather to remember those who have died in the First and Second World wars, and other conflicts.

Another royal engagement the princess is planning and hoping to attend is her annual Christmas Carol concert at Westminster Abbey in December.

The service, supported by The Royal Foundation, honours those who work to support babies, young children and families in communities across the UK.

Linked to Kate’s Shaping Us campaign, the service showcases “the hope of new life and why it is so important to build supportive, nurturing worlds around children and the adults in their lives”.

However, the future Queen is not expected to join her husband, Prince William, in Africa, where he will attend the Earthshot Prize Awards ceremony in November.
