Rihanna has cancelled two UK shows on her ‘Anti’ tour this summer.

Concerts at Sunderland’s Stadium of Light on June 16 and Cardiff’s Principality Stadium on June 18 have been axed.

Sunderland’s AFC’s commerical director Gary Hutchinson said: “Unfortunately this is something that can happen with major tours and naturally we are sorry for those concert-goers who were looking forward to the show.”

Cardiff have offered a refund or a swap to an alternative city. Another show at Coventry’s Rioch Arena been rescheduled from June 14 to June 25.

It comes after she postponed several dates on her ‘Anti’ tour in the US later this month due to illness.

The cancelled UK dates have been blamed on “logistical reasons beyond the tours control” according to a statement and refunds will be available.

Following the cancellation of her Grammy performance through illness earlier this week, the singer pulled eight dates on her North America tour due to begin at the end of the month.

The singer was set to perform in San Diego, Houston, Austin, Dallas, Atlanta, Phoenix, New Orleans, Oakland and San Jose.

The lengthy tour will now begin at Jacksonville Arena on March 12.

The rescheduled dates will also begin in Phoenix on May 1, Billboard reports.

Rihanna was due to perform ‘Kiss It Better’ at the Grammy Awards but failed to perform after being diagnosed with bronchitis and put on vocal rest.

A spokesperson for the singer said that a doctor put her on vocal rest for 48 hours and that she “was at risk of hemorrhaging her vocal cords.” Although Rihanna had been on medication for three days, the antibiotics “did not kill the infection adequately.”

She recently made her New York Fashion Week debut, presenting her Puma by Rihanna collection last week (February 12).
