Let’s discuss the Under Armour Curry 6, Steph Curry’s sixth signature sneaker.
This shoe was designed by chief designer Leon Gu, who drew inspiration from running shoes to address Curry’s need for additional cushioning after a decade of wear and tear in the NBA.
The Curry 6 incorporates Under Armour’s advanced cushioning technology, known as full-length HOVR, which provides a luxurious and comfortable ride while maximizing energy return.
Originally developed for UA running shoes, this technology was designed to support experienced runners who had accumulated many miles on their legs, ensuring smooth strides.
One notable variant of the Curry 6 is the “United We Win” colorway, which received widespread acclaim. The design of this shoe was influenced by a heartwarming story involving Riley Morrison, a 9-year-old girl.
Riley wrote a letter to Steph Curry, expressing her disappointment that his trainers were not available in sizes for females. This letter gained viral attention, and as a result, Riley’s insoles were included in the design of the purple “United We Win” pair of trainers.
