Prince William’s plan for Prince George to attend Eton – the boarding school where he and brother Prince Harry spent their development years – is reportedly breaking Princess Kate’s heart.
Princess Kate’s – Boarding School Experiences Makes Her Wary Of Prince George Being Enrolled In One
According to an expert, William’s decision to enroll Prince George into Eton throughout his secondary school years caused an argument between him and Princess Kate.
The reason Kate is resolutely against this was that she was “horribly bullied at her first boarding school” and “can’t bear the thought of George suffering through that.”
Kate was said to have “hated” attending the girls boarding school in Berkshire called Downe House.
Due to the fact that she didn’t fit in, she ended up leaving the school mid-term to finish up at Marlborough College, a co-ed boarding school in Wiltshire, where she stayed for the rest of her schooling.
According to the insider, Kate feels it’s safer for George to attend Marlborough College rather than “stuffy” old Eton. “Kate thinks sending George to such a stuffy, upper-crust institution goes against all of their efforts to modernise the monarchy.”
This is said to be a major problem in the Wales household with “hours” spent arguing over the decision.
“Kate long disagreed with her husband about sending him away, even though it’s tradition,” the insider revealed. However, it seems that William’s won this round, so George, 10, would soon be joining his new mates at Eton.
The Prince of Wales, 41, started at Eton in 1990 and graduated in 2000. Per the school’s website, tuition for the school is £53,398.
William and Harry were the first royal children to break from tradition by not attending the Scottish boarding school Gordonstoun.
At the moment, the couple and their young children are enjoying a well-deserved break at Balmoral Castle, where Princess Kate will hopefully continue to recuperate away from the public eye.
