In a bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021, the couple sent shockwaves across the UK, and with their claims about the reasons why they left the monarchy, the couple also created a Netflix documentary. These steps from Harry and Meghan revealed several things about the royal household and gave insight into their relationship with the members of the royal family.

During the six-part documentary series, Harry made a candid comment about the challenges faced by women marrying into the British Royal Family. The father of two called it ‘feeding frenzy’ and was afraid that Meghan might face the same suffering. He also spoke about the impact the men in the Royal Family have when it comes to choosing a spouse.

He said, ” I think for so many people in the family, especially obviously the men, there can be a temptation or an urge to marry someone who would fit the mould, as opposed to somebody who you are perhaps destined to be with”.

According to royal expert Richard Hardman, the Prince William is said to have taken the Duke of Sussex’s comments as an attack against his wife Kate Middleton, whom Harry had previously referred to as the “sister I never had and always wanted.” Harry spoke about the “pain and suffering of women marrying into this institution” and referenced his late mother, Princess Diana’s experiences.
