Real reason why Meghan Markle was told not to join Firm at late Queen’s deathbed

The Royal Family arrived at Balmoral on the day of the late Queen’s death to say their final goodbyes.

Prince Harry flew to Balmoral without Meghan Markle on the day his grandmother Queen Elizabeth passed away as the family did not want petty arguments, a new book has claimed.

In Charles III: New King, New Court. The Inside Story by Robert Hardman, the author suggests that King Charles asked Harry to come to Balmoral alone on the day of the late Queen’s death on September 8, 2022, as the family wanted to concentrate on their final goodbyes rather than petty fighting.

It was previously thought that Meghan was not invited to say goodbye to the late Queen and neither was Princess Kate, however according to the new biography, this was not the case.

Hardman revealed in his book that the Princess of Wales decided to stay in England because felt she needed to support her three children as they began to attend a new school in Windsor.

The fact Kate was not by William’s side was then used as a reason for the Duke of Sussex not to bring Meghan, and helped to calm the angry Duke down when he found out his wife was not welcome.

In his book, Hardman revealed how King Charles was the one to break this news to Harry as the couple were reportedly working out the quickest way to get to Scotland.

Hardman wrote: “We can easily imagine the dread with which the Prince of Wales approached that call. The Sussexes’ capacity for taking offence was well known and everyone was conscious that any conversation could end up in the public domain — as, indeed, this one did three months later.”

Harry arrived at Balmoral alone hours after the late Queen died.

He later attended her funeral with his wife Meghan Markle, marking Meghan’s last visit to the UK.

Although tensions were evident between the prince and his brother William at the time of their grandmother’s death, the pair did reunite for a public walkabout outside Windsor Castle to thank royal fans for their well wishes.

The four were seen shaking hands with members of the public and looking at floral tributes left outside the Palace gates.

The brothers are no longer believed to be on talking terms after the release of Harry’s bombshell memoir Spare last year.
