Salman Khan’s name to be removed from custodial death plea
On Monday, the Bombay High Court issued an order to remove actor Salman Khan’s name as a respondent in a plea requesting a CBI investigation into the custodial death of an accused involved in a shooting incident near the actor’s residence. The deceased, Anuj Thapan, was discovered dead on May 1 in the toilet of the crime branch police lock-up. Justices Revati Mohite-Dere and Shyam Chandak, comprising a division bench, instructed the petitioner, Rita Devi, who is Thapan’s mother, to exclude Khan’s name from the petition.
